Islamic & Quran Studies

Department

The Challenge

During the developmental stages of children, Islamic & Quran education is a priority. There is always a need to master these values and learn Arabic reading in a student’s formative years.

However, accessing daily learning, personalised needs, teacher support, and convenient options is difficult and not readily available in many areas.

SAFAR as the solution

SAFAR Publications is an Islamic Studies Curriculum that has been tried and tested over the last 20 years.

The style of the Safar Curriculum has also been refined and documented so that the system can be easily implemented in different parts of the world, whilst leaving room for incorporating the culture and practices of each society.

The staff of AIPS had the pleasure of visiting institutes in the U.K. to witness the effectiveness of the program before implementing it. The curriculum is structured into four distinct syllabi:

  • Quranic Reading & Understanding
  • Islamic Knowledge
  • Spiritual Development
  • The Arabic Language.

The curriculum includes:

  • Qāidah
  • Tajwid
  • Juz Amma (Learn to Read Series)
  • Duas and Surahs (Learn by Heart Series)
  • Islamic Studies (Learn about Islam Series)
  • Arabic (Learn Arabic Series)

All the publications contain many innovative features and interconnections to ensure students learn in an engaging, steady and coherent fashion.

The publications are well-written and contain child-friendly illustrations using age appropriate language. The books have been written considering the developmental milestones of a child’s learning process.

Safar Publications provides a robust and comprehensive curriculum to equip learners with the necessary knowledge and tools to develop a deep-rooted love and relationship with Islam.

Features

  • The publications are based on traditional Islamic sources and understanding and are also shaped by effective educational theories and practices.
  • The curriculum and comprehensive support services are continually improved and refined, ensuring we stay ahead of the curve and meet the needs of learners and educators in today’s ever-changing world.
  • A teachers’ training portal is accessible to everyone using the curriculum, along with teachers’ resources, like toolkits, presentations and worksheets, etc. that are continuously uploaded.
  • The curriculum and extensive teacher support services are a privilege to the art of learning and teaching in a holistic, contextual and student-centred manner. Furthermore, the curriculum includes the learning of key Muslim values, skills and attitudes, such as God-consciousness, respect, tolerance and mercy for all life. It also aims to give learners the skills to live and build healthy relationships with others in furthering the common good. Through such a values-based approach, our learners can grow to realise their full potential and play an active role as Muslims in their communities and society at large.
